Julian and Amanda spend a little time together.
I might write a second part to this.. XD
“Ju!”
Julian’s head popped up from behind the couch in the Seigerson’s summer home as Amanda came bounding into the room, her pink summer dress swishing behind her as she gripped her teddy tighter.
“Come out from under there!” She said with a laugh. Julian grinned his Cheshire-cat grin and jumped up from behind it, wearing only his grey sweatpants— Well, actually, they were Logan’s fencing sweatpants— And raised his eyebrows at her.
“What were you doing behind there?” She asked.
“Hiding from you of course,” He said with a wink— When he was only picking up something he dropped— before he picked her up, twirling her around and setting her on his hip as she squealed and clung to his bare shoulder. “Where’s Bear and Yoyo?” He asked, trying not to laugh.
Amanda shrugged. “I dunno. I couldn’t find them,” She sighed, holding on easily as Julian walked towards the kitchen.
“Want something to drink?” He asked. She nodded, eyes bright as he set her down on the counter. “Don’t jump off,” He warned. The last thing he needed was Derek to kill him for not watching his little sister.
“OJ or water?” He asked, standing at the fridge.
“Hot chocolate!” Amanda replied excitedly, kicking her legs lightly against the counter.
Julian turned and fixed her with a disbelieving smirk. “It’s summer time!” He explained. “You can’t drink hot chocolate in the summer, you’ll be too warm. And it’s 9am.”
Amanda frowned at him, the exact same way Derek did when he hated being told what he could and couldn’t have or do. “But I want hot chocolate,” She said with a pout.
Brown eyes glinting in amusement, Julian made an exaggerated swoop of his arms before resting them on his hips and looking at her. She giggled. “Fine, just this once,” He said as she clapped her hands with an evil grin. “But don’t tell Bear or Yoyo.”
“I won’t,” She promised. “Can I have two marshmallows?” She asked as Julian pulled the stuff down from the press.
“Sneaky,” Julian tutted with a grin. “But yes.” He pulled the packet of marshmallows down that were already opened and popped one in his mouth before moving them beside Amanda. “Don’t eat them all or you’ll be sick. Do you want toast?”
Amanda popped a pink one in her mouth before she nodded. “I like toast.”
Julian merely nodded to himself and started fixing it up, eyes glancing to Amanda every now and then to make sure she wasn’t about to topple off the high counter. When music started playing, Julian almost dropped the sippy-cup full of hot chocolate he was holding. (What? He barely trusted himself holding a hot drink, he wasn’t about to let Amanda scald herself.)
Amanda found this amusing and started laughing. “Sorry!” She exclaimed. “Yoyo always has music on in here! He was dancing with me last night,”
“Oh, really?” Julian asked with a faint smirk.
“Mmhmm!” She hummed. “He does this two-step thing a lot though.”
The actor had to bite his lip to stop from laughing. “Logan isn’t exactly the best dancer, is he?” He teased.
“I dunno,” Amanda said with a shrug. “I’ve only ever seen Bear dance before Yoyo and Yoyo’s a better dancer than Bear. What about you? Can you dance?”
Julian shrugged and handed her the sippy cup now that it had cooled down. “Keep the lid on,” He warned lightly. “We don’t want you ruining that pretty dress, do we?” He asked, pulling it down over her knees and fixing the straps up higher on her small shoulders before he went and buttered the toast.
Amanda hummed as she drank it. “This is yummy!” She took another sip. “Better than Bear’s!”
“Is that so?” Julian asked, swooping her off the counter quickly as she laughed and plopping her down on a stool at the island. “Eat this or else you’ll have no energy today,” He said, pushing the toast in front of her.
She wrinkled her nose at it. “I don’t like toast.”
Julian raised his eyebrows and sat down beside her. “Really? You told me a few minutes ago you did,”
Amanda giggled. “Just kidding!” She put down her drink and picked it up. “What do you put in a toaster?”
“Toast?” Julian asked uncertainly.
“No!” She exclaimed. “Bread, Ju! Not toast. Toast is what comes out of it!”
Julian felt like a bit of an idiot for not realizing the joke but he laughed nonetheless and ruffled her hair, picking up the coffee he’d made and taking a sip.
“You have a dry wit, huh?” He asked, grinning at her.
Amanda tilted her head. “What’s a dry wit?”
Right. Of course Amanda wasn’t going to understand that. “Uh… Someone who’s funny,” Julian explained, not really knowing how else to.
“Oh, well, I’m funnier than Bear. His jokes are lame,” She explained matter-of-factly.
Julian hummed in agreement as she finished her toast quickly. “What do you want to do today?” He asked as he emptied the crusts into the trash— Just like her brother who never ate the crusts— And put the dish in the sink.
There was only so many domestic things he knew how to do.
“We should go swimming!” Amanda said as she took another sip of her drink. “You, me, Yoyo and Bear!”
Julian shrugged. “If you want to,” He hummed a little more as a song he knew came on.
“You like this song,” Amanda stated, nodding to herself.
“Well, I know it.” Julian replied with a shrug. “What about you? What songs do you like?”
Amanda looked thoughtful for a moment. “I like songs about Princesses! Yoyo says you’re a princess, did you know that?”
Julian rolled his eyes and nodded. “And you know what he is? He’s a Squid.”
“Really?” She asked, eyes bright and curious. “But he doesn’t have eight legs!”
The actor couldn’t help the snort that escaped him as Amanda giggled at her own statement.
“No, I guess not,” Julian answered with a sly grin and picked her up. She squealed again in surprise and clung to his hip. “But he does act like one sometimes.”
“Does that mean you act like a Princess sometimes?” She tapped on his shoulder.
Julian shook his head. “Logan likes to think so, but I don’t. I don’t wear pretty dresses and crowns like you.” He tapped her nose and twirled her around.
“I could get you a dress!” She said excitedly. “A pink one with glitter!”
The brunette shook his head. “Nah that’s okay,” He chuckled. “Dresses aren’t my thing.”
Amanda frowned. “What about glitter? Everyone likes glitter.”
“Do they?” Julian asked as he put her down. She frowned up at him but he merely took her hands and twirled her, making her laugh.
“Yes!” She exclaimed a little breathlessly through laughs at being danced with. “Everyone. Even Bear. I painted his nails last summer! Bright pink!”
Julian laughed and picked her up again, pushing her hair behind her ears. “Come on, I don’t want you to get sick. What do you wanna do now?”
Amanda frowned. “But I liked dancing with you! You’re better than Bear or Yoyo.”
“I know that,” Julian said with a grin. “They know that, too.”
“Bear doesn’t think so. Yoyo does though.” She explained as Julian walked towards the patio.
Julian frowned a little at her. “What do you mean?”
“Well, Bear loves you, right? Right.” She answered her own question as Julian sat her on the banister and put his hands either side of her so she wouldn’t fall, the sun beating down on his bare back. “But Yoyo really loves you like… like Bella loves the Beast! And you love him too. More than Bear.”
Julian blinked at her warily and brushed more hair from her eyes. “Who told you that, sweetie?”
He certainly hadn’t.
“Nobody,” She said once more. “I’m just smart. You two are really pretty together.”
Julian smiled a bit. “I do love Logan. And Derek.” He added as an after thought.
Amanda grinned. “Bear told me that you two love each other, like that you’re best friends. But then I asked did he kiss you two as well,”
The actor tried to hide his horror, but Amanda kept talking. “He said he did on Valentines day because you were all joking around. He said that he loves you guys and that you love him too. But I still think you and Yoyo love each other more than Bear.”
“You’re definitely smart,” Julian said with a smile, but he didn’t confirm or deny anything.
Amanda grinned, satisfied. “So will you bring me swimming?”
Julian nodded, thankful for the abrupt topic change. “Do you wanna go get changed?”
“Yoyo!” Amanda exclaimed, finally looking past Julian to see the blonde leaning thoughtfully against the door. Julian glanced over his shoulder before lifting Amanda onto his hip again.
“Hey,” Logan said a little awkwardly. He still wasn’t great with kids. “So swimming, huh?”
She nodded excitedly and wiggled until Julian put her down. “I’m going to make Bear get my swimsuit. The pink one! Do you know where he is? Will you come with us? Please?”
Logan nodded as she stared up at him. “I’ll come with you, and he’s in the kitchen cleaning up.”
“Thanks Yoyo! Thanks for breakfast, Ju!” She shouted as she ran away.
Julian looked a little awkward as he waved, knowing she’d be back in a few minutes. “So.. How much of that did you hear?”
“Everything from ‘Like Bella loves the Beast’ to just now.” Logan grinned a little at him. “She has you wrapped around her finger.”
“Me?” Julian asked incredulously, but knew it was true. “She told me you danced with her last night.”
Logan merely smirked in response. “So?”
Julian laughed. “She said all you do is two-step.”
The blonde rolled his eyes and stepped closer to the brunette. “You don’t seem to mind it,”
“I don’t,” Julian confirmed. “But shouldn’t we be worried?”
“About what?” Logan asked, moving to wrap his arms around Julian’s waist.
“About that she… well, sort of knows?”
Logan frowned a little at him. “I don’t think we should be. Derek wouldn’t have explained stuff to her if he didn’t want her to know.”
Julian nodded. “I guess. She is only a little kid, she probably doesn’t even realize that most people frown upon us.”
“Exactly why Derek’s teaching her not to,” Logan replied, nuzzling Julian’s nose.
Julian didn’t respond, instead he pressed his lips lightly to Logan’s, eyes fluttering shut as he squeezed his waist in response, pulling him closer.
“I love you,” Logan breathed as they pulled apart.
“I love you too,” Julian responded with a smile, kissing him chastely once more.
“See Bear!” Someone— Amanda— Exclaimed from behind them, making Julian and Logan break apart quickly as Derek stood there with her, glaring at his two best friends somewhat playfully. “I told you they don’t love you as much!”
Derek merely rolled his eyes and picked his sister up. “They’re idiots, Panda, that’s why.”
She giggled.
“You two go get ready, would you?” Derek asked. “And Julian, next time put a shirt on around my sister or I’ll have to kill you.”
“His abs are better than yours, Bear!” Amanda exclaimed with another giggle.
Derek sighed in response, giving Amanda a disapproving look but he was smiling anyway.
Julian merely smirked at Derek and grabbed Logan’s hand. “We’ll be down in a sec.”
“Hurry!” Amanda called.
“Yeah, hurry!” Derek yelled as the two others walked through the door.
Derek turned to his sister. “Julian gave you hot chocolate for breakfast, didn’t he?”
“And he danced with me!” Amanda said with a grin. “I like Juju.”
Derek didn’t respond, just laughed and carried her down to the pool. Oh, the joys of having his two best friends around his little sister. Two people to gang up on him was bad enough, but three, with one being his sister?
He stood no chance in any argument.
